They were just talking about this event on the morning radio news. I'll bet that there were quite a few, that after the announcement, became souvenirs. Boxcab E50
I have a very small collection of transit system tokens as part of my railroad memorabilia collection, two of my most prized tokens are one from the "Fitchburg and Leominster Street Railway" a trolley line which ran between those two towns in Massachusetts and survived as a suburban Boston bus line. The other most prized token is one from the "Chicago, North Shore and Milwaukee Ry". A token which was used for cash fares on streetcar lines which that Insull interurban line owned and operated in Waukegan IL and Milwaukee WI. I believe the token has gone the route of the dinosaur. One more victim of the cyberborg! CT
Johnny, I just read about this in today's Enquirer... Yeah, gone the way of the dinosaur is right. Hope you have a complete collection of them for yourself. Ed
