    Thank You!
I went to that Museum site and looked at the crane you refer to. I dont know how I managed to do this right, but I added a handbrake to the one I am building, and somehow I got it pretty close to the right location. There is also a crane similar at the Moffat County RR Museum in Granby CO, it has more sheet metal added to the house for winter operations.

Yea he has a lot of really cool stuff huh? He really likes Mack trucks. I FWD the info to a guy building some heavy duty oilfield rig-up type trucks.
Do you know of anyone that make Autocar trucks? Seems there a lot of them in the oil patch.

    OK Thanks Vince.
I want to post this here to keep my builds located on this thread too.
I finally got the KRL 38181 loaded, I made this car to be unloaded, only thing is, it might take as long to unload the model as it would the real one. All one has to do is push the pins out of the scratch built hold down rods, and lift the transformer off. But pushing those rods out aint gonna be all that easy, I used Moly lube to hold them in place, they are just small.
Here it is in the cab tracks ready for an east bound to pick it up.

That is fantastic work on the depressed center flat and transformer load! The detail and weathering is great. Really cool idea on making the load removable by removing the connecting pins. Very realistic. (y)(y)(y)

Been trying to drag the re-powered crane to conclusion. I came a bit closer to being finished with this project. I offer the following images.

And now another MW flat loaded with some rail, ties, angle bars and some shop trucks. The car is based on an image I found on Mike Condren's website.

    Thank you Richard and Dale.
Those would be some large gears for sure. Certainly would have chewed you up good if you got caught up in them.
There is a similar derrick up in Granby at the Moffat county RR museum.
