It confused me too, as I said at the end :) All I know is it worked with ONE momentary Rocker Switch :) I'll see if I can't draw it and show you?

@Shortround Got the Momentary Rocker Switches to work using the 3/4" bit and a more powerful drill. Now it is flush and I can pop it out with a short stub screw driver. Now I need to figure out where they will go on my base, small 2' x 4' base, and see if someone can tell us how to wire an LED so that it is either lit or not lit to know if it is set for Straight operation or Divergence?

Any help with wiring an LED to the switch is appreciated by us :) I just need LED On and LED Off so I know which way the switch is thrown?

Place my tiny switches somewhere around this area on my first base and do the same on the other base when it is wired for DCC and Remote Switched Turn Outs. Guess I will just number them for their location? Of course I will have the switches in an Up and Down orientation and would like to have the - represent Straight and the = represent Divergence, I hope! And of course the o is for OFF cause they are Momentary Switches. Thanks to the people that told me that I was gonna order the wrong type of switch :) Man this place is super helpful!

Unfortunately, momentary contact switches lack a set of non-momentary contacts your LEDs will need to stay lit. Your turnouts are AC powered are they?

Even though it's probably your underside but if you back your board with a scrap piece of wood, you would avoid those tear outs (3rd picture).

Yeah AC powered! Being just 2x4 it for each base, it shouldn't end up being a problem. Worst case I can stand up and check them :) Just being lazy, again!

Yeah that was a Test piece of 1x4 just like on my layout frame. Wanted to make sure they fit, and more importantly I could get them back out. I'll try to remember to put some scrap pieces behind where I will drill for them on the actual layout frame.

Glowing lights are cool. I suggest that you model your control panel using these as inspiration from TV's Time Tunnel (ABC Television, 1966 and 1967). The best part is that the lights don't have to do anything, but randomly flash and impress visitors.

I loved the Time Tunnel, and great idea flashing lights that do nothing :) Hmmm...

If your using a flat spade bit, start by drilling a 1/8" drill thru. From the back side spade drill to size in about 1/8" and then finish from the front. That should eliminate the chip outs.
Half way through from the back first may even be safer if it's yellow pine.

Alright before I made it super complicated, can I daisy chain the AC power connection for the CENETR spade from switch to switch for AC power to each switch? This is how the Atlas switches that come with the turnouts work? So from each turnout, two far spades take the GREEN or RED wire, and the GROUND runs back to the AC connection on my DC controller AC screws, and the PLUS power connection to each CENTER spade on a switch. Did that make sense? This is how the wiring of ONE switch works. I am mainly asking about DAISY chaining the CENTER spade for PLUS power?

So the Female crimping connector’s worked out perfectly on the Momentary Rocker Switches. Now all I’d have to do is mount them. Almost sure gonna mount them on my layout frame above each shelf on my 2 bases. This should be great for using them and look good since my frame is painted Black, and the Single line on switch will mean straight through, and Double will be divergence.

What's cool is say you forget how you threw the turnout, and these are connected to Dual turnouts, so throw them and it activates 2 turnouts. Since - is straight and = is divergence, if I have a train coming and I forget which way it is thrown, I won't hear the switches change direction if already thrown the way I wish? Pretty cool!

I also am going with the Paint Pen again and Add white to the AC wires, since Red and Green are used by the Atlas turnouts and of course Black, common too! As long as I can Daisy Chain the middle AC power terminals I am all ready to go. Drill some holes for the switches with the NEW 13/16" drill bit, set them in place, wire them, and run trains, me hopes :)

Remember it just Two bases that are 2' x 4', that form and L! And I'll be sitting right next to the switches closest to me, Remote or Manual ones!

Worked out so far perfectly. Looks good, fits just right, and works. At least the first installed one does.

Gonna test just the one for awhile. Also count use some more remote switches or just remote mechanisms? Not sure which yet.

Thanks, yeah I like it a lot. Just hope when I drill for the other ones I get them closely lined up? Of course if they are off by a bit, I'll never notice it once I am running trains. We will see, but I like the way they blend in with my Black paint on the frame, really cool :)

Installing some Woodland Scenics Just Plug lights, man these things are tiny in N Scale, thank goodness for my new magnifying glasses I bought awhile back. Basically stole these ideas from other YT videos :) Now to put the base on the bed, to wire things up properly! Might not stay in the exact locations, haven't decided on all of locations yet?

What the heck happened here. It’s a mess. Time to try and make sense of it all, wire new Just Plug lights and other turn outs and momentary switches.

BTW, I keep saying Alexa fix the wiring mess. She no listen too me. But she will play Its a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong to calm me down for this job. Great song.

Not perfectly lined up, but they work. It’s really cool having them right next to me, as I operate the layout sitting in a chair.

Not as much success in getting the Just Plug lights working. Half of them not working. I was tired from wiring turn outs to my momentary switches. That’s my excuse anyway. Dang those tiny arse wires.

A quick video showing how I wired up the momentary rocker switches using my second terminal block. Second time the terminal blocks made it easier for me to understand the wiring. And in 15 minutes had the Just Plug lights working. What a difference getting away from a frustrating project and coming back to it makes. I just needed rest from it, I guess!
