Is it possible to move your left hand turnout to where the grade crossing is? That'd eliminate the bridge altogether.

Yeah I am thinkin about a triangle piece there possibly. If you notice my turnout switches are also under bridge :) Poor planning I guess? Once I get the roadbed on the second base I am gonna try and cut a piece of balsa or maybe buy another piece of 2" foam but it is very thick and not sure I'll be able to see my switches? It doesn't have to very think balsa really, Just has to be removable.

Yeah the curve after that bridge is a really, really, really, tight turn as it is? Don't think it is possible, but I could try it and see! I also thought the bridge would break up the square look of the layout too. Need to think about it more I guess!

Here us the curve after the bridge!

Move the LH turnout to after the grade crossing as suggested above. Get rid of one quadrant of your sectional tracks and replace with a piece of flex track. The flex track will give you a nice gentle easement between the two sections as it will form it's own "best curve".

I think you may even reduce the radius!

(Excuse my poor drawing with a mouse. :D)

I'll give that a try for sure and see if it works. If I was smart, and I am not, I would add flex track to several areas to cut down on potential track issues, and have way less rail joiners. But like I said, not only am I not very smart, but kind of lazy :) Actually I may try it at some point. I could replace my 11" and 9 3/4" radius with flex, having the same radius but instead of 4-6 pieces of track I have would have one? I'll think about it?

Also trying to figure out structures and scenery on the temporary base as it has to be stored at times. And structures would have to come off at that time! I have always wanted the Town & Factory set and have mockup's of them cutout of paper somewhere to see how they would fit! And I like Just Plug lighting a lot too, a whole lot!

See anything different @Hardcoaler @MK ? At first the new switching confused the heck out of me. But I am good now :) I'll have to find new places for my bridges in the future? BTW, it works way better as far as derails and such, much!

    Thank You!

Finally all three Atlas U25B's working after 3 or more years. Trying a three locomotive consist for the very first time! It took me awhile to get them setup properly, but it is fun now that it is done. I'll run them for a few days and then break them all all up and reprogram them individually :)

@Hardcoaler The drop in decoder installation was really easy. I'll make a video at some point. Have some turn out issue's I have to figure out, but these things are really, really, nice.

Love the fact that I can now program in the road number and make adjustment's to CV's and such with my NEW NCE PowerCab! Lot to learn, setting CV's, Consist, etc... I know they are hitting a few of the switch machines for my Atlas turn out's and just need to figure out a fix. Most are fine, and of course it the ones at the back of the base against the wall which is a paint to get too normally. So I will need to remove the L base to work on the Wall base to rectify the situation, I hope! And I have my well car's coming next week and now I am concerned about those, well I already was actually!

Man this thing's are sweet, hope I can get it worked out? I think I can, I think I can... where have I heard that before :) This hobby is rewarding, yet frustrating at times!

Well I got #5407 ES44DC working, have no clue why :) Man, these locomotives are nice! The NCE PowerCab is sweet and only know the basics. Having to get used to it also.

Got the Consist working with the NCE PowerCab and they are making all the way around the layout now at least 95% of the time. Still a few adjustment to make.

Have some adjusting of track to do, but I already knew that! These things are really nice! Temporary programming track in the front since I got TWO of those cab panel boards, and that little piece the rail joiners plug into, and luckily one is Black & one is Green too. So using the second connector and just have to Turn It OFF, unplug Main, plug in Programming track, and learn :) It's how I set the decoder addresses and how I setup the consist too, on the Programming track! Once I get used to the NCE PowerCab and don't need the programming track, I'll just remove it until I need it again!

Miller Engineering Light & Power advertising up and running on the Cordova Equipment Rental building. Have to add the HVAC back to the roof. And try to find out how to get access to the switch without having to remove roof? Now the helicopter pilot had to avoid the sign too :) Looks really cool in the dark.

So I would like to make this area a bigger yard to house at least 6 locomotives and maybe an A&B unit, or a locomotive and a car or two. When I tried to add it, all I got was a bunch of switches and the track got smaller and smaller. I want one of those concrete yards where all you see is the track and concrete but NOT the ties? First off is it possible, cause this is where my rolling desk chair sits when I am operating the layout?

Could I add another switch on the Left above the one already there to enter the yard? And still have room for the ladder track ( I guess it is called ) to hold a locomotive and a car? I also just replaced the 11" radius track for the semi S curve with 9 3/4" to get the track OFF the Black road right above it! And of course the houses will be moved. They are new EveModel houses and just enjoying them for awhile in front of me :)

    Any help appreciated!

Getting closer to what I want? Maybe 4 will do, and aren't there track side structures ( not sure what they are called? ) to put in between them, maybe?

    IMG_1673.jpg

    Any suggestions appreciated!

Maybe make a road crossing coming in from that road on the left center that goes between those 2 turnouts and then make a parking lot in that open area for all those engineers that will be driving those trains...;) You could even put in a small 'crew lounge' just off the parking lot....

So road crossing where the tiny arrows are on Left and continuing ( long RED arrow ) to parking lot and crew lounge? Me likes!

Yup...just like that. Come in the parking lot...park...and walk back to the "Crew Lounge" at the back of the parking lot....(y)(y)

Any suggestions for a crew building/lounge kit? I like it a lot. Now the cross over is kind of weird cause you know Atlas turn out black plastic part, but it is what it is :) Some pick um trucks, cars, a dirt or gravel road maybe? I mean at first it will be black, I'll just cut out the grass mat stuff for now, and maybe what kind of fence, chain link around the area to break it up? Maybe a gate to the property, if I can figure out a gate :)
