Well, Still waiting on parts. Should be here sometime between today and Tuesday. I still don't have sound but it finally sees the tablet so i have pictures of the new work. More later after i get my new system up and running. I also have a new Atlas S-2 for Christmas coming. If it runs the way my Atlas RS-2's, I will be so happy! Want to get the track all cleaned so i can run some trains now. Got to run trains on Christmas. Shots below of the new work. Not sure where to start next anyway. Fixing some minor issues will be next i guess. There is a few small places needing work, just minor, thank God. I am getting tired. Need a rest from it. Running trains is about as much as i want to do right now. Maybe after the new year. Shots below.

Thanks! I still have plaster work to finish before i paint. I am tired right now so i put it out of my way for now. I may just run trains till after new year. I hands are really hurting anymore. Rheumatoid arthritis, is really not fun for us old farts. A few years ago i would have knocked the scenery out for the most part. I have thought of going to a bigger scale. Just not wanting to tear down all this to start over again. I am sticking with N scale. Laters

Sunday evening i decided to start cleaning the track. After removing all the dropped plaster I started a scrub of alcohol. It took two coats to clean the track so i could put No Ox back on the track to get it to let engines go. My Rs-2's needed there wheels cleaned as well. They ran ok. I took the NW-2 and it ran right out of the box. sound and no skips! I have a S-2 coming my way so i can check it out too! I will post some trains later here. I will be sending the Bachmann 44 tonne back as it won't do anything. Thats twice now. Have to fix any damage to the other Rs-2 as it hit the floor. I am going to fix that!! It won't be able to do anything like that again. A piece of clear plexiglass to keep hands clear as i have some company that likes to see trains. Laters

That wrap is just that, safety. Falling 3 feet to a hardwood floor isn't the best idea. I am going to be doing a plexiglass front to protect that from happening. It already did once.I put the foam wrap on or kept it on so i would have half a chance of saving the locomotive from major damage. I plan to also add floor padding to so if I cannot get to it fast enough i can somewhat have a better chance of saving the engine. I got one going back for that, and have them repair it. One of my Atlas RS-2's bit the floor already, so its going back for major repairs. Even with the padding it did its own damage. I put the foam wrap on or kept it on so i would have half a chance of saving the locomotive from major damage. Mike Fifer showed these mats and i like them as i used them when working under a car. Link below. There cheap but are really soft and helps to keep from hurting your back as well. Check them out.

Anti-Fatigue Foam Mat Set, 4 Pc.

I had ordered a S-2 engine back a couple of weeks ago. I ordered a silver edition. From what i could see on there site. Analog is just that. Silver is dcc and Gold has dcc and sound installed in it. I got my S-2 today and to my surprise it don't even say silver edition on it which should be a analog. It does not have dcc in it. So i called them at Atlas and they told me that silver edition is Analog. If i want dcc i need to buy gold. ok...Who put there stupid hat on?? My RS-2's are both silver editions have the basic dcc on-board. I bought those from two different stores. If they are changing there stuff to a different system, they should tell us on there on-line site! So i have to buy a 35 buck chip to put in that loco. I think that they need to clear up the confusion over this. Off the soapbox...

I thought Silver is DCC and Gold is DCC with sound.

I would check your S-2's product number on Atas' website. At least from a website you have something "in writing".

I called them and was told that the silver was analog and the gold was dcc/sound. If.. I had known that i would have bought it at another dealer other than Atlas. Getting this dcc chip and install is gonna cost me over 50 bucks to fix. Lesson Learn't...sucks

Sorry, just double checked. Silver Series includes the speaker so it's "sound ready". Oh brother!

Well, I know i said no more plaster work till after Christmas was over, But that mountain just keeps calling me to do work on it. I got two coats done and its got ribbed so it will hold the plaster better. I have the back side and some patch work to do yet. Shots below

Did more today. May do more later today. Fixing some of those off angles and smoothing out the ground for grasses later on. I have a few spots still left yet to fix there. Then the back side. I can still tun engines yet. I kept all the track but the logging camp track. It has a lot of work to do on it yet. Who knows, I may start doing grasses and ground starting after the new year. Right now my hands are hurting so i am done for the day. Some more shots of todays work. I can run trains yet.
