    Is it even possible to rail fan there anymore.heard online that the railroads not letting people through thier anymore.

    I cannot say how close you can get these days, but one of our members posted photos from there, just within the past couple of weeks. Cannot think of into which part of the site he uploaded those photos.

    There is a public road, easy to get to. You might be trespassing if you climb right to the tracks, but great views from the road and hillside.

    Look for the recent photos from Noah aka SactoTracks.

    Yes, you can railfan it easy from caliente and the Keene exit off 58. What is not accessible is the road to walong which has more to do with the ranch owner being fed up with people not respecting his property than UP.

    Another owner who owned the ridge above Walong blasted a dirt road in where there used to be a walking path, so now getting to the rock outcropping with the trees that offers the view of the loop is easier. As of last time I was there, the owner had not built due to the economy and had no problems with railfans. All can change. The ranch in the center of the loop had been an ongoing problem.
