Were you able to stumble upon anything or did it turn out to be a snipe hunting trip? :D :D

COnsidering what's been hauled in it, all you'd need to find it would be a Geiger counter and a good sense of smell

That's why the PRR is already making plans to run some metallurgical tests when it gets to Altoona.

I know that ever since it was seen on the JACALAR, I have these strange spots on the underside of my arm.

If you're able to spot that car under your arm, you've got amazing trackwork!
(or need to see a doctor) ;)

Our faithful rail spotters have sighted the car at Crescent, CO in a special movement this afternoon...
No images yet, we'll see what they come up with.
A quick call to the North Yard trainmaster yielded no info. My usual contact was as tight-lipped as any government covert operative. What's going on? All we know is the car was headed eastbound to Denver.:confused::confused::confused:

A little digging, and we've found out that this car is handling a very special load for the US government. Nobody will say just what, but my money's on some super top secret weapon or technology. The first of our intrepid railfans got to Crescent just in time to catch the special rolling round the big 150° curve at Crescent:

There's a couple old D&RGW section gang cars, converted from troop carriers from WWII in the consist, undoubtedly carrying loads of security personnel. There was two cabooses, too. Perhaps for more heavy weapon-toting guards.

Did I spy the 2008 Forum Car?

We'll keep our ears on,a nd listen for more info on this car's whereabouts, and perhaps catch it heading west again!

Well the good news is, looks like the government still trusts the integrity of 3401 to haul their secrete macheniery! :D

You can clearly see how much 'use' this car has had since it's construction. :D

    Keep us posted Hemi. :)

Any sign of it? I never did catch it again leaving Denver, but I hear it's headed west again. Can anyone confirm? Security around the load has been so tight, North Yard was sealed by heavily-armed US Government agents.

    Tracking is gone wacky again.
It's either somewhere in California.. or somewhere on the Pennsylvania Railroad network. Perhaps even both! ;) :p

We'll have to pay close attention and hope someone can spot it! :)

Speaking of which, there was a small gondola train working out of Honesdale, PA that I was able to get a few shots of before it vanished out of sight. It was being pulled and a C-420 ALCO with marked as D&H #413 pulling Gondola D&H #15008. ...

I just got a couple of snapshots in the mail from a friend of mine in Sacramento. Looks like TBX3401 was delivered to PRR tracks a few days ago.

Of course, the Sacramento guys found something wrong with it. After its load was delivered to Travis AFB, it was put on a hotshot to Altoona empty. It should be here any day now. I swear, I'm going to teach those jerks out there in Sacto a lesson. This is the third car that they've kissed off on Altoona in the last week. This time, they're claiming there's some "anomaly" in the metal, and they want the test plant to take a look at it. Oh well, job security, I suppose.

Anomoly int he metal? Knowing what it has hauled, and the unknowns it has hauled, ya never know. How far from Travis AFB is Area 51? I wonder....

10 hours driving, according to Google, so probably less than an hour by air.
