All of our actions have consequences, whether they be good or bad. Something not taught much in this day and age.

Not to sound cruel, but with my older kids (now 25 and 23) as well as my younger ones (15 and 11) I would warn them that what they are going to do will hurt if they keep it up... but then drop it there. I knew they heard me, and I knew they understood what I was saying, but some lessons are only learned from experience. Today, if I tell them this or that is not a good idea, or they may get hurt doing this... they listen! Imagine that!

Nothing like installing individual LEDs (not on a layout) all proud of myself and then turn on the power and 3 of them don't light. Defective! They were glued in and the object was painted nice, etc. Yeah, double the work to get them out and then fix the nearby surroundings. These were purchased on eBay from China, something like 50 to a pack for really cheap. Should have tested each and every one of them before installing!

As you can see...the rest of the streetlights came in....:D

They are just sitting in the holes i drilled.

THE WIFE likes the decorative lights but I am on the fence. At 1:150 they look a bit big. I have a place to buy some n scale size. I think I will buy them and then let THE WIFE decide which she likes better.

I almost forgot about those square drill bits. We used them in high school wood shop. '66/'68.

Not exactly the way I did it. I did it the way one should NEVER use a drill bit....o_O Drilled the hole straight down and then tipped the drill left and right until the hole was 'bored' out to the right width of the retangular mounting piece...

    SSSHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

I do agree that the decorative ones look out of place/scale, especially when you have the more modern ones across the street.

Sorry I meant out of scale, not place (as if they don't belong). I don't know why I said out of place. Past my bed time.

EDIT: I know why! :D Out of place as in they look too big to be placed there. You need to place them somewhere else. So another way to say out of scale. :)

Yea, those black street lamps are the exact same ones I have too. I never used them because they looked way too big. They do look good, just too big. The other street lights look perfect on the other hand. I have some of them too. They are for the next project.

You might be able to do some surgery on them if you can remove the oversized 'heads' without ruining the electrical connection or LED.

Have you got anything at the front of the layout the lights could go on? Use a bit of forced perspective got give depth to the layout?

I have purchased quite a few n scale 'people' from them. I have seen the light too, but perhaps not the latest versions. My last eBay purchases were about 5 yrs ago.

A group of us in Big Bear Country, ordered all kinds of stuff from him. Most of it LED's with resistors. Easy to use and hook up. Nothing but good to say about the guy.

I have to agree the decorative lights are a bit oversized. If they were shorter, they would probably look better. If you had not said these were 1:150th scale, I would have guessed HO. I will add that those modern street light look great!

I was a bit uncertain the first time I bought stuff from him, after all who is not suspicious about the name wehonest? Arduinos if I remember right, but they arrived fast and were just as good as any other. I have bought many more things from him since.
