CIC slug 128 with MP15DC mate 115 on the Edgewood main in Cedar Rapids, IA. http://finance.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/crandic/photos/view/b966?b=15&m=f&o=0 Anybody else out there have any switcher shots? or slug shots? or both together? Time to dig for those pics.
SP switcher power at Mojave. Yes this is road power, but at Mojave Yard, this is yard power. With switch list in hand, a crewman waits for his next signal. Six big EMD's switch the West Flyer. Mojave is a small yard, so road power is used for switching duties. SP does nothing small!:we-eek:
Classy Looking Alco's The City of Prineville Ry. had three Alco S-1 S-3 units until some years ago. The classy Alco's were replaced by a pair of Ex:Milwaukee Road chop nosed GP-9's and a Ex:BN GP-9.
oh Ho, Not technically a switcher or a Slug, that's a cabless GP60B. SD38-2 I think? Working with slug at Barstow Different Pair, Still Barstow, different spot
Somewhere east of Elgin Il. near the EJE crossing on the old Milwuakee road Is it switcher or is it road power? It used to be road power, it's in a road consist. Rebuilt Geep Vancouver Wa.
Looks like SD40-2s have replaced the Conrail (ex-PC) SD38s as mothers to the MT-6s. No prominent air filter box - not a 38-series. Still two radiator fans, though, so it's an SD39. I believe I shot this back in summer 2005:
SW1500 and slug on the Sandersville RR, Sandersville, GA MP15 in Macon, GA Pair of SW1500s pulling trimmer duty in Brosnan Yard, Macon, GA
It's unusual to see an end-cab switcher with a slug that large. What was it made from... U25B? U23B? U30B?
Great set of photos everybody!!! I must've been onto something here. Couple more "switchers" from the Union Pacific. UPY 698 and UPY 674--GP15dash1
