I need some help choosing switch stands - at the moment it is between Rix Products and Caboose Industries...

I prefer the look of the Rix Products stands, but have previously used Caboose Industries and liked them. What do the rest of you use, and why?

I use Caboose industries ground throws exclusively. I haven't seen the Rix throws, so I can't form an opinion of that product. I
can say that even though the CI throws are just a bit oversized, they work really well- saves me a lot of wiring, and since I have a small layout, I can be both engineer and ground man.
I've had some of my friends solve the problem of turnouts being too far away from the edge by installing a piece of piano wire, bent & connected to both the turnout and ground throw.
FYI, David Barrow's Cat Mountain & Santa
Fe uses ground throws and DCC, so he also has no control panels on his layout at all
    (and it's a BIG layout!).

Have you looked at the lit Tomar switch stands? Don't buy their indexing device, just use a piece of piano wire and link it to the the switch machine. When the turn out changes so does the lamp from red to green or visa versa. Really neat!
