Neat shot! When I go to Denver next, I hope to catch as many DRGW engines as I can.

Paul, yes that's true. However, it beats the alternative:

And, incidentally, this picture is taken say 200 yards away from the old GP30!

The GP 30 picture was taken less than a month ago, the deadline picture was taken this past January, I believe.

And I can show you a lot! Almost all unpatched, too [IMG] I think this weekend I'll finally be back in Denver (I'm holed up in Scottsdale AZ tonight). The wife says you're welcome to join us for a BBQ afterward. But I told her you don't eat meat... right? (Not!) :D

    Hemi, and others,
I get to see the DRGW hoppers ALL the time!!
They plant 'em here in Longmont, for Valmont power plant in Boulder. Either a string of empties, or loads.
I've got photos of 3 DIFFERENT paint styles too:
plain Rio Grande, Rio Grande, the Action road, Rio Grande, the Action Railroad.
Would have to transfere photos from one computer to the other for posting, but I can add a few of thoem to my Rail Images gallery for those interested!

Thanks William now wouldnt be fantastic if you could afford to buy one of those locos and have it shipped home then strip it out and build a shelf layout inside it :D

    Indeed.
    William, I love a steak anyday! :D
I took a shot of a Rio Grande hopper, this one with the 'Action Road' herald. Look for pics soon. I also have an MKT boxcar shot, a DRGW(B) F unit, Mopac buzzsaw and screaming eagle hoppers, CNW F unit and hoppers, and an ex-Rock grain hopper.

All can be seen sitting in Longmont at one time or another. Usually empty, but sometimes loaded. Store in Longmont, as Valmont, in Boulder, has no place to store loaded or empty cars. Gotta check my photos, see what else I have, of interest!

And look what I found today:

I don't know about HO modelers, but for N scale DRGW fans, this is a significant locomotive. It is one of only two DRGW GP40-2's that match the recent Atlas N scale release. (The other is 3130.)

Below you can see a back to back shot of the radiator intake fans of #3129 and #3118, a typical DRGW GP40-2.

For those interested in modeling it, I have a Webshots folder of shots I took today (with permission, I might add [IMG] ).

What I found today was caught between 52nd Ave cul-de-sac and the north end of the yard, just east of the Cargill grain elevator. All shot from what should have been public property, that I'm aware of! But, had no problems, so.........Gotta get out east one of these days!! No job.....No problem!!

    Which gives us a....

    William,
I've been out of work, my choice, for the last 3 weeks!! Of course I'm coming down for the DRGW/BNSF tours in the morning!!!
Look for a red Toyota p/u truck.
Driver carrying 2 cameras - Digital and video, plus an original DRGW Hard hat!!
