Stumbled upon this old steam engine photo last night...

    While looking for something else. Isn't that how it goes? But I am not complaining!

    My father and brother strolling through the photo, 55+ years ago. Rayonier Shay #2 on display at Promised Land Park (Humptulips), Washington. Darned if I can recall what happened to this display. It was all moved and the #2 was supposedly to be restored or something. Nothing pops up in a search so far.

    The Oregon Coast Scenic Railway is in possession of it. It looks like it was disassembled pending restoration, which is not a good sign: https://shaylocomotives.com/data/factsheet/sn-2305.htm

    I think you may have a mistake in your post, as the photo shows #3, but you said #2 in the text. Either way, #2 is at the Mt. Rainier Railroad, so I guess they both survive in some capacity.

    Yes. Typo. Meant #3. The #2 was restored years ago at MRSR.
