I just tried to upload 6 photos to one of my albums (JACALAR Structures). On my PC, I compressed them to about 140KBs each, at 1280 x 720 resolution (versus initial 4 woo woo woo files at much higher res). I then used Add Media to upload.

However, instead of maintaining the native size of the photos and files, the upload seems to have compressed them further, with only a thumbnail showing in the album, such as this one:

How do I upload larger size photos to my albums?

This is to try uploading the same photo directly into a post

Uploads to your albums should be able to be 2000 pixels in width or height. Please advise if you continue to have problems.

Loading into my albums works for me. Although plugging in the URL from one of my images in one of my other albums gives me an error. I was looking for and easy way to break apart some of my monster albums into smaller ones that are easier to find things in. I can copy an image to my desk top and then load it back into the new album. Just a lot more steps.

You can't use the "move" feature for you purpose?

OK - working now, and I didn't do anything different. Even tried from iPad, and uploaded a lot larger photo to allow for auto-resizing. All is fine.

BUT, something was nagging at the back of my mind, and I went back and looked in my cached history. When I uploaded this morning, the "maximum size" on the page was listed as 2,000 x 200 pixels, not 2,000 x 2,000. Could the setting have been messed up right when I was uploading and that top photo I loaded here be 200 pixels wide?
