Or anyone else with an older "Official Guide." There is a reference in Robertson's "Encyclopedia of Western Railway History Vol III" about the SC&P being a separate listing from the GN, until the BN merger. That is, it was not the GN line I thought it was when purchased by the GN, however long ago. So, as I have no "Official Guide" of any sort, I need to lean on someone who does. Can anyone help me out?
Dan- My only Official Guide for the needed time frame, is a 1959. Indeed it does show the SCd'A&P listed. Within the index. However, it also shows "See Great Northern RY." Upon doing so, that page referenced makes NO mention of the SCd'A&P. AFAIK, SCd'A&P was absorbed by 1943. I have a System #11 dated October 1, 1941. Which has a Rocky on it's cover. My 1949 GN RY Spokane Division ETT shows the tracks. But makes no mention of the SCd'A&P. It is possible that only operations were absorbed, and the corporate structure still existed. Which happened in many, many instances of US railroading. Note: There are known errors in Official Guides. Where they didn't revise information. Also, there are known errors in Robertson. (Some is way off.) He gathered info. But didn't seem to know how to collate it. So ends up essentially garbled. Confusing. Likewise, with Wikipedia. Boxcab E50
Hmmm... Well, I knew about the Robertson errors, so I was hoping the "Guide" might shed some light. Oh well... Thanks anyway.
