No, since the SP only put train numbers in the boxes when in service. I havn't decided what train number (99,98-Daylight or 51,52 San Joaquin Daylight). I am trying to figure out a way to be able to change out the number boards. Have blank ones when out of service and of course numbered ones for the particular train I want to run. Have a good one, Wolf
It has been a long time since I have worked on this model, and tonight while cleaning up the workbench I decided to get back on it. (I think the new SP cabooses has something to do with it! LOL) Tonight I added the air conditioner, antenna stand and whip antenna, sunshades and lift rings.
Man am I glad you dug this thread up! And am I jealous of those Sunrise detail parts! The one I REALLY need is the three-light nose package. I also need something for the SD-9s. Does anyone have a review of the Miniatures by Eric SP lights? I can't tell what type these are supposed to be.
With the cold weather I have decided to stay inside as much as possible and just relax and model. Today I added MU hoses to the GP40-2.
A little paint goes a long way. Going to install the plow later, as well as some wind deflectors on the cab. Paint the railing ends white, add some weathering and call this one finished for now.
Great Thread I just started reading this thread from its beginning, around 2007. Really nice work, JD! Also a lot of good Espee engine detail information. I will have to work on my engines, too. All the pictures are still there, too!
Looking good Jerry.:thumbs_up: I have a whole fleet of SP diesels to detail. I have all the Sunrise detail parts. Just have to find the time.
One thing before Church this morning was painting the white on the railings and steps, and filling in the numberboard with window maker. Should be dry by the time we get back and ready for decals.
Hey Jerry, I also started this thread for the first time yesterday and just got through it. Just some amazing work! I just do not know how you do it, I just haven't got the guts to try..... But when I work up the courage, I will refer back to this thread as a primer on how to do things correctly. Thanks for all of your sharing!
