Over the next couple of days I will be uploading my video's from Saturdays chase of 4501, please feel free to ask questions and I will answer the best I can.
Yes, I'm sorry I should have clarified. The 01 is the "big engine" in the TVRM's fleet, although 630 is by no means small. They start the Summerville, Georgia trips in March and run till November. Grand Junction is the TVRM's terminus sorta-speak and is where their collection of rolling stock and non-operational locomotives are on display. The TVRM also handles freight....Allied Metal and Volkswagen.
I have more videos from the Saturday trip, I also have some videos of 4501 on the mainline from 2015 if you would like.
Thanks, now I know where this is going on. I was thinking Summerville, SC for a minute! That is so cool that TVRM handles real freight. We were last at TVRM many years ago and really enjoyed it. Sounds like it's time to visit again.
Nice videos. Thanks for sharing. I caught sight of the 01 yesterday when I was in Chattanooga. I must admit, I do miss the days past when she was painted green and running mainline excursions on the Southern and later NS.
Dang!! Now that's what steam is all about-the anticipation of first seeing the headlight, then the smoke, then all the noises and smells as it rushes by in a fury, and the train rolling by at speed!! Yeeeeee-haaaa!! Dang, gives you goosebumps!! Don't matter what railroad it is, steam is steam!! Anywhere, anytime, it's always good to see, hear, and smell a live steam locomotive!!
I heartily recommend doing the trip to Summerville. It's just like one of the good old Southern Railway fantrips from the 70s. Even better - lunch in the dining car!
