Some views of the new part of the layout :

The benchwork is a little bit complex, so it will take lot of time to complete.

And video of the test of the Bachmann RS3 locomotive. A little noisy put run smooth. Not very good for tractive effort : slide with 7 cars in 3% grade & 15' curves.

No more bench work photo at the moment...will come soon !!

But photo from the putting togever of the fox valley PRATT BRIDGE yes !!

It is a fantastic kit ... the first bridge injection kit that match brass models ... at lower price. It take some time to put togever because there is 72 pieces in the kit and some are very easy to broke (i have brokes two).

I have replaced the cord by 0.4mm brass rods to represent the strainer.

    Hello all !!

Here is a all new building !! It is a full scratchbuilt plant. I have cutted it to fit to the backdrop. Bricks sheets are from N scale architect et windows from grant line.

Structure is cardboard made et concrete poles are made with evergreen :

Painting with airbrush and tamiya acrylics for the bick works, poles are painted with tetsor "aged concrete".

That is a little steep of a grade for pulling 7 cars.
Many engines would have a hard time pulling up that grade and curve. Even the real thing.
I have only a short section that is 2.5% with most of the rest at less and I use 2 six axle engines to do 15 to 20 cars depending on their weight.
The Fox Valley bridge look very good.

The bridge looks great and the aluminum paint sure brings out the detail! I'm guessing it's the Central Valley kit, not Fox Valley?
    Keep the pics coming...:)

    Looking way cool!!
If it helps, when you're ready to build engine facilities, I've got
photos, from two different train shows, of the Rio Grande Burnham Shops in Denver.
Inside and around the rest of the grounds. Taken during tour of area, given by a good friend of mine.
I can upload later, and post link to album when I'm done.
    Again, very nice job!

All I can say is WOW! When I grow up I want to be able to model like you!!!! I'd like to see a video of your plaster rock "carving" technique.. I have tried to do it a few times, but failed miserably.. I like that you "run what you like", I do the same..

If you can locate a copy, I would highly suggest the following book:

    Denver's Railroads
The story of Union Station and the railroads of Denver.
    Kenton Forrest/Charles Al I
    272 pages, Over 300 photos
    20 detailed maps
    7 color plates
    Colorado Railroad Museum
    Revised edition, 1986

Museum MAY have copies in stock.

    JF,
Does the front bridge have horizontal curve or a vertical curve to it, it's hard to tell.

    Either way it looks good!
