WB junk freight accelerates out of Gallup. Leading is one of the many GEs BNSF is so fond of, but behind it is an SD45-2 and SD40T-2 from NREX. Both are smokin' it up as the hogger puts the throttle to the power.

Cassandra, PA, fall 2004. A heavy coal train with four SD40-2s up front and another two at the rear - one seems to be having some issues.

    Smoke before the storm

This is one of my favorite shots. This was taken on my 1st railfanning excursion with BNSF7173 at West Stratford IL. A storm moving in from the southwest made for a nice backdrop.

    Charlie,

Yes I have seen the grave yard. Is that where they put railfanners who get too close to the track? :)

While we were waiting at that crossing there was lightning in the vacinity. Every time it lightning the high voltage lines above sizzled. Pretty weird.

NS freight approaching Macon Jct next to Macon Terminal. It will soon head right onto the Savanna District for the run to that port city. Smoking unit is an SD40-2.

Texas State Railroad near Palestine. I scanned the color 35mm slide. Then made it look "old" with Photoshop.

A pair of BNSF SD60M's, an SD75M and an Oakway SD60 lead a unit coal train out of the West Portal of Mullan Tunnel. 14000 tons of aluminum and coal follow with the assistance of a 3 unit MRL SD70ace set cut in midtrain and 2 more ACe's pushing hard on the rear.
