Mopacfan2007, great overall presentation on that layout. Good weathering, too. As an aside, I see you're from Euless, did you ever visit Hobby Maker? Too bad its gone now, nice store.
I guess I should post this on this thread too. Flash's locomotive, Colonel's caboose and my NTRAK module.
Here's my first go with one of the M4D kits. This is a GP38-2, from an Atlas GP40-2 and a long hood conversion (along with what seemed like pounds of little parts):
Looks good! I might have to try one myself once the M4D GP15-1 shells are available. Question: Where did you get the exhaust spark arrestors? ~Tim
Wouldn'tve had to wait much longer for the Walthers GP38-2, and just a little longer for the Atlas GP38-2, which I believe is coming in MOPAC colours.
Tim, the spark arrestors are from Loco-Motives. Unfortunately, my local source tells me they're no longer in production. So when my undecs show up I'll be trying the technique posted here earlier...
eagle unfortunately locomotives are no longer avaiable however jnj makes them in white metal http://users.dwx.com/~jnjtrains/Aready/0151.jpg
Thats a great looking loco and the exhaust stakes really add to the model. Did you use a decal or paint the side walkway strip?
Yep, mold broke and that put paid to their all-weather windows, rotary beacons and a couple of other parts as well. All in the same mold. I believe deLuxe got hold of it and was considering repairing it years ago.
River Eagle: Welcome to our not-so-humble little group. Nice bunch of shots, esp the 4275. Gotta love the fantasy schemes!
River, Excellent modelling, welcome to Trainboard it's always great to see new members posting and especially a MoPac fan. I like the fantasy scheme, I'm more of a jenks blue fan if you check the HO forum you will see a few models I painted recently. Once again welcome to Trainboard and I look forward to seeing you here more often.
Thankx, what else could I be with the MP double track main on which the original "Eagle" ran running through my backyard!!! one more shot the idea for this loco came from the stack of herald king GP decals on my workbench some 6 years ago, an started a set of three MP dash 9s, this eagle scheme, and one each with and without the screamin' eagle.
River Eagle - That is one good looking engine! UP should have consulted you for the MOPAC heritage unit!
Mopac C36-7s I agree...great job River Eagle! Here's my latest project - a trio of Mopac C36-7s: Kato C30-7 mech, sill & handrails, Atlas B23-7 nose/hood & 2-window cab, B30-7 long hood and Dash 8-32BW dynamic filter box. Fuel tank was made from two Atlas B23/30/36-7 tanks grafted together. BLMA grabs on the back. UP paint and thin red striping complete. Hopefully the remaining decals will be here this weekend. ~Tim
Nice to see UP going to some use, Tim! Amazing shots river_eagle! What year is that n-scale (at top)?
