I think I would have returned that can of paint to the LHS for a refund! :eek:mg: That being said I think your weathering is great. It reflects the maintanence of the units AFTER the borg took over.

    Matthew,

Excellent rollingstock, one suggestion is to use some clear plastic to make window glass for the caboose it is simple and very affective.

    Nice Weathering

Nice weathering, Matthew. That always makes it look more prototypical. I think MT is selling some type of insert for windows, but I agree with Colonel that the clear plastic is better. You can paint "shades" on the inside of the plastic, too.

Also, make sure you can read the reporting marks. That will be necessary when you start operating.

    Matt:

You could also try Micro Kristal Klear (MicroScale) to make windows. I've used it on some cabooses and loco shells and am pretty happy with the results.

First, welcome to TrainBoard! Always good to have another enlightened modeler around.

I like the weathering on the Geep. Any chance of some more shots to get other angles at seeing it?

    More from Mopacfan2007

Thanks for welcoming me. I am planning a Colorado based layout that I hope to start building this winter. It will feature interchange with the MP/UP and the DRGW. I'll report back when I have a plan.

But for now I am sorry to say, I don't have as many photos as I want of that old layout. I will dig through my old CD's and see if I can find more. I did find this already (it is a slightly different angle than the previous, but it shows the engine better...):

    Take care,
    Donovan in Dallas

Here's an update from an old post. I've been trying to convert an LBF skybox into a MoPac car, based on this picture:

After many unsuccessful tries with decals (whic proved to be too large to apply without excessive wrinkling or tearing) I tried just printing a car side and ended up with:

Hopefully the three foot rule works to my advantage here, but at least I can know that noone else has one of these!

Here is a picture of a MOPAC business car I just finished. I know its not exactly prototypical, but I wanted one in the fleet.
