Hey folks! I know many of us members have threads for their layouts, and I know there are many more "lurkers" who read but rarely post. Show me your favorite scene(s) from your layout! Finished or in progress, I'm easy! Feel free to explain what makes the scene your favorite, or why you think others will think it is interesting. Post 'em up! Since my layout is in progress, and very much in the "foam" phase, I have a vast, barren landscape of blue to stare at. So by default this is about the best "scene" I have:
Industrial district somewhere: The sun is shining, it's warm, it's dry, blue sky ... (Roof details will follow as soon as available.)
Wow. That's quite a mill pond. Those I knew, (and fell into, etc), were all brackish, odiferous and dark colored. I wish they'd been so nice. Might even have been good fishing, too!
Boxcab, FYI, brackish water is a mix of salt and fresh water, usually located at a river delta. I used to breed brackish fish... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scatophagus_argus
I keep looking at this layout and I am thinking that I could build something about this size with a third of the skill....I keep thinking about it.....
My current favorite though the pier nightclub is still uncompleted, no shingles on roof, not installed in water, seawall etc not built. but it beats, if only by novelty, my old favorite. Now when I get the pier nightclub really installed, track on the causeway ballasted, etc. and shoot a high shot that gets it all, I will have a new favorite. Something to shoot for in 2012.
(that 70-tonner is a resin custom job by Randgust) (no, the above are not early Fox Valley Models GP60M's, they're custom jobs by modeler extraordinaire Jerry DeBene)
Cajon Circa 1959 John, no fair, that's multiple favorites! Here's mine; nothing quite says "Cajon Circa 1950" like a set of FT's crossing Highway 138 with Mormon Rocks in the background! A little digital cheating involved... Happy New Year! Otto K. Oh, the title should say "Cajon Circa 1950", not '59
