I voted no only because of the reasons already stated. Cost and safety issue for the crew. I do remember the thrill of my life though railfaning as a child in Coon Rapids Minnesota near Anoka Minnesota when a BN train rumbled by (with F units in the lead) and the train stopped with the caboose right in front of me. The crew came out and chatted with about trains and gave me a tour of the caboose!! I was in heaven I think I was about 7 years old at the time. On my layout, some of the local trains will have a caboose because like many, I still like them and in some cases they make sense. However, for most of my trains as in real life, I will not have a caboose.
