------------------------------------------------ Canadian Pacific Railway's Service Bulletins. _____________________________________________ Current Shipment Delays The following is intended to provide updated information on the situation(s) impacting traffic moving through, to and from the identified corridor(s). While it provides an accurate overall account of the current situation, we caution that some shippers may experience service somewhat different from what is described in this report. SERVICE AREA REPORTS Ontario Service Area; DERAILMENT At 04:00 EST April 17, 3 rail cars derailed from train 911-16 near Mactier ON located between Sudbury and Toronto, Ontario . Our mainline between Sudbury and Toronto is closed. CPR Field crews are at the accident site and it is estimated the main line will be cleared at 05:00 Wednesday, April 18. CPR will reroute traffic through the region where possible. Although it is difficult to specifically determine the length of delay, we anticipate shipments moving in and out of the Toronto area will experience delays of up to 24 hours. St Paul Service Area; FLOODING Update #3; 04/17/2001 Snow melt and heavy rain in Minnesota and North Dakota have caused the Mississippi River rise to a level which has resulted in flooding in St. Paul Yard. The river is expected to crest on Wednesday April 18 at 23.5 feet in St. Paul. CPR's main line between St. Paul and New Lisbon, Minnesota is now open for restricted operations and will continue to operate at reduced levels for 5 to 10 days. Detours and reroutes commenced at 18:00 CST April 15 and will continue until the water recedes to a level at which normal operations can be resumed. Canadian Pacific Railway has undertaken a number of steps to minimize the impacts to operations. These include but are not limited to: Dykes have been built around the yard and pumps are positioned. Shop stores have been elevated. Operations within the yard and on the main line have been modified. This includes activities such as transferring operations to Humboldt Yard, creating by pass trains from locations such as Milwaukee, Chicago, Glenwood etc. and making alternate interchange arrangements with our connecting partners. Where possible CPR has prespotted local customers. Locomotive repair work has been diverted to other locations on the system. Additional locomotives are on hand. Plans and materials to repair rail infrastructure once the water has receded are in place. Although it is difficult to accurately predict the length delays, it is estimated that shipments traveling through and within the US Midwest will experience delays of up to 48 hours.
I will when I can. I get them right from CPR, so, only when circumstances call for a bulletin I will post. So it would be touch and go at best. Jon
