Got out for the second time this fall (seemed like winter today, with wind chills below the freezing mark) and the first place I went was CP VO at Voorheesville, where the crossing has been replaced until the D&H (CP) can fix their main. This allows CSX to run their trains at a higher speed since the rail is welded in place (there was a speed restriction over the diamonds, that's why they were removed).

The crossings are still on location, and I'll put some photos up when I get them developed.

Later, I went to Selkirk Yard, and found 4 "Grey Ghosts" that must have recently been delivered to CSX (last couple of days). GCFX 3099-3102 were in the yard, with 3100-3102 coupled together. For those that don't know, these are from the FURX order, but First Union backed out, so they are owned by Aslthom now.

Here are the diamonds at CP VO back in April, with an eastbound approaching with AC44CW #41 and FURX SD40-3 #3011 in the lead, trailed by 65 covered hoppers.

And the power on the diamonds.

Thanks for posting the great pics Corey. Hard to believe how quick the weather changes. We had about 3 inches of snow Saturday and I've been scraping windshields every morning lately. [IMG]
