I think someone asked for a picture of an SD80MAC in CSX colors, so here's a link: http://www.trainweb.org/csxphotos/photos/SD80AC/0801CSX-bc.jpg Chessie ------------------ Harold Hodnett Fan of NS, CSX, and their predecessors! The topic that was accidentaly deleted was the SD80MAC still in Conrail colors. It was just renumbered.
No problem.... here's a great shot of CSXT 800, still in Conrail Quality paint: http://www.trainweb.org/csxphotos/photos/SD80AC/0800cr.jpg Chessie ------------------ Harold Hodnett Fan of NS, CSX, and their predecessors! Hey that shot even better. Now I have even another version of these brutes to model. So I guess the CSX has only one of them in CSX colors? ------------------ Keep on railroad'n
You are correct Jack, only one in CSX colors presently, #801. ------------------ Corey Lynch Pres - Rensselaer Model RR Society NEB&W RR http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm - My Site http://www.union.rpi.edu/railroad/ - NEB&W

I checked the recent updates at http://www.trainweb.org/csxphotos/ and there were not any of repainted SD80MAC's (yet) Chessie ------------------ Harold Hodnett Fan of NS, CSX, and their predecessors! <BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Michael Ridenhour: saw 805 last week. Still in CR paint.<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> Aha! "MJRyan" on the CSXrailfans email list just reported that he saw 804 repainted and running on the Penninsula Sub (where is that anywy?). So I guess they're _slowly_ getting painted. I still wish they would put the "AC" lightning bolts on them. ------------------ Dave Railfanning & modeling modern CSX The MARC Railfan and Modeler Site
Better Yet Why don't they put the scheme the AC6000CW's came in. In fact I am surprised that they did not come in it. ------------------ Keep on railroad'n
Are the SD80MAC's experiencing engine problems like the 90MAC's? Chessie ------------------ Harold Hodnett Fan of NS, CSX, and their predecessors! Coming soon: The North Carolina Railfan Web Site http://www.trainweb.org/ncrail/
No chessie, Conrail ran them for a few years before CSX even got them. The problem was only related to the SD90MAC with the "H" engine. The SD80MACs have a different type of engine. ------------------ Corey Lynch Pres - Rensselaer Model RR Society NEB&W RR http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm - My Site http://www.union.rpi.edu/railroad/ - NEB&W

I shot 801 and 803 heading south to the coal fields on the MGA on Monday, 11/20/00. It was snowing so hard at the time that I ran for the car as soon as I took the shot! I will post it on the CSX Railfan site in a day, or two!

Read it on egroups. CSX is swapping 8 SD80MACs for 14 WC SD45s on a temporary basis. The WC will use the MACS in mineral train service as a test. ------------------ Cotton Belt: Runs like a Blue Streak
