I am just building a new web site (my fifth!), and I am making it to the full size of my monitor, which is 17" set to 1024 x 768 resolution, and note this on the home page. What sizes of monitor do you all have, and what screen resolution? ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com http://Andersley.homestead.com http://galleryusarail_tehcaj.homestead.com http://eurogallery.homestead.com/index
I have a 19" set to 800 x 600. I like to recline while I surf, without squinting. I used Hit-O-Meter and its statistics say most people use 800x600, IE 5.0, but I tweeked my site for the 640 x 480 guys, and centered everything so it looks right on the higher resolutions. ------------------ Robert Ray The NP & UP N-Scale Railroad
Desktop - 17" @ 1152x864 Notebook - 13.1" @ 1024x768 Site is set up in 1024x768 with 800x600 in mind. Gary.
My monitor is 17" and I use 800x600 as I find it just right. Any higher and the details get to small for my liking. Robin http://members.xoom.com/Matthyro/index.html
I had not realised that people were still using 800 x 600 so much! Seems kinda old-fashioned I have made my previous sites with this low res. in mind, but my new site published last night is set for 1024 x 768. http://britishsteamgallery.homestead.com/index.html ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com http://Andersley.homestead.com http://galleryusarail_tehcaj.homestead.com http://eurogallery.homestead.com/index britishsteamgallery.homestead.com/index.html

Just to check, I reset my monitor to 800 x 600. It looked horrible!!! You can see the pixels even in small typefaces! I will definitely stick with 1024 x 768, and make allowances on web sites for the lower res. ------------------ Alan The perfect combination - BNSF and N Scale! www.ac-models.com http://Andersley.homestead.com http://galleryusarail_tehcaj.homestead.com http://eurogallery.homestead.com/index britishsteamgallery.homestead.com/index.html
