I have very sad news concerning an old friend and Frisco modeler/historian Richard Napper, from the Frisco Yahoo! group: This is Richard's brother Greg. I hope I am contacting the correct model railroad association but I see Richard N listed on your website as vice-president. Richard E. Napper was found dead by neighbors on Friday 03-08-2013 at 6:30pm. I am coming to Topeka on Monday 03-11-2013 to go to the Coroner's Office and start attending to the necessary arrangements. The Sheriff's office told me that the death was natural causes. I will contact you by phone when I am in Topeka regarding the time and place of the Memorial Service. Please notify anyone and any of your membership whom you think would be interested. Thank you Marshall G. Napper While Richard was never a Frisco employee, his father and several of his uncles were employed by the railroad. He was a vast storehouse of information about the Frisco, and had several articles published over the years on how to model the road. He was also a close friend of the family whom I have known for close to 30 years. He will be missed, not only in the Thompson household, but by his family and many friends. Deepest condolences to his family.
Sorry to hear about this. Never met Richard but I have friends that are Frisco modelers/former employees that probably knew him and I am sure he will be missed.
Very sad. I just talked to Richard during the last few days so hearing this earlier today was a sad surprise. Charlie
