I consider my pike to be roughly Hagerstown, Maryland, in the 1940 to 1960 era. I know that's a pretty broad era, but I like to model steam and first generation diesel and Hagerstown was visited by Western Maryland, Pennsylvania, Norfolk and Western and the B&O was close by. Most of my cars are from the "Alpha-Jet" route of Eastern RR's that were part of WM's freight routing system. I also throw in some Western cars, and whatever else interests me. I'll probably never have a prototypical percentage of hoppers! I also run a B&O and a PRR passenger train.

    Marylandrailfan,
Sounds like you have a busy railroad without the prototypical number of hoppers [IMG] [IMG]!! It also sounds like a good mixture of interesting rolling stock to keep businesses furnished and add a little interest to the layout [IMG]! Good luck and Happy Modeling!!
