Thanks to all wishing me a good vacation. I need the rest! When I booked off the roadrailer I thought I wouldn't have to work again, but low and behold I did two trips!

Called for train 508-27 at 0745 in the morning. 5665 & 5777 for power, 6000' of train. In London, 922 was ordered before us, so we waited for him to leave. He left to take the hole at Nissouri for train 747, which we waited for him to arrive in London as well. We went out to Nissouri then, and took the hole for train 535. Then it was a straight shot all the way to Guelph Jct. And once we got on the CTC there it was straight to Toronto yard. I was off duty at the Hotel at 1400. Coming back I was ordered for train GZE-28 at 2300. I had the 9100 & 9156 for power. It was a unit (re-route?) grain train. 4125' long, 9053 for tonnage. Again no work on the way home. We met trains at Orrs Lake, Wolverton and Coakley. I was off duty in London at 0620.

well when I booked off I took 12 hours rest, I was 20 something times out and i thought I'd be OK. Well I was ordered for train 515-29 for 2200. I was going to Detroit. For power we had the STLH 5615 & 5707, and 4964' of train leaving London. We had to go in the hole at Lobo for train 738. From there we went to Bothwell for the Expressway & 417. Then to the next siding at Kent Bridge for 528, who that night was running about 9 hours late! We waited on the main at Ringold for 508, he was in there for the Expressway behind us, we then were told to take the hole at Tibury to let the Expressway pass us. We then had a straight shot in. At Walkerville Jct. we lifted two cars, so we were about 5100' long. Then it was off to the NS. Once we got to Oakwood yard, the general told us to pull up and through manifest #3 via the westbound main. Once we got through he gave us some cut numbers and we set them out. then back on the train with our power, and a NS crew took it to Toledo to switch out. Buy the time we got to the Hotel and booked off it was 0730.
Coming back I was ordered for train 508-30 for 2115 at night. For power we had the 5806 & 5879, with 5134' of train. We got on in rougr yard in Detroit and were instructed to pull down to Barran, where we overheard on the radio that a CN freight had gotten stuck in the tunnel. We the listened oin on the Tunnel channel, and overheard train 475(?) making his last double back into Van De Water yard. So we sat there for an hour, but once we got the light we were hot, as the train had a boat connection in Montreal. We had to lift 1 car at the Junction, and off we went. Our first meet was at Tilbury, then Kent Bridge. There we were supposed to meet 515, but there was signal problems so the RTC brought 121 there as well. We had to get a rule 509(authority to pass an absolute stop signal in ABS territory). Once we got that we were off, non stop. All of our meets were well in the sidings as we passed, so it was track speed(60MPH) all the way, until Melrose, where a CN train entered the block before us so we watched him cross the diamond. Any way back in London and off duty at 0610, and finally on a weeks vacation!
