Behind the fascia, will there also be a horizontal board? Just thinking if so, it could be painted to reflect even more light downward?
Yes Bob I am using black corrugated plastic not sure how reflective it will ber, Here is the valance installed
Installed the first section of LED lighting after some experimentation I decided on installing two runs directly behind the valance Don't worry about the light spill in the left corner that was before i permanently installed the lighting strips

Not much progress this week although I have added more LED lighting and think I have the correct configuration now. Next job is to mount the DCC panels to the fascia in preparation for painting
I haven't been visiting here much for a while, so this is the first time I've viewed this thread from the beginning. All I can say is very nice from the track plan to the benchwork and lighting. Looks like you've provided plenty of storage underneath, too.
Thanks, yes since this is my second layout I wanted to improve on my first, I guess I want it to be a show piece for operators and visitors Looking forward to laying track however need to mount the Nec panels etc before painting the back drop and fascia etc should happen over the next few weeks all gong well
Today I was able to find a couple of hours to do a little work so I mounted the NCE panel, Throttle and cup holders, they will be removed when the fascia is painted hopefully next weekend
