Did some research I can use there switches that attach under the points and will switch the frog Peco Lectrics Accessory Switch PL13 However after testing the points with a continuity meter, the frog is live and is switched through the switch

Very nice. When I turned 50 last month, the family only gave me a voucher....for a one day introductory course to drive a Steam Engine :teeth:
Here is a question, should I have a higher ballast profile under the mainline or being an industrial area should it all be flat?
This week I moved into our new home and have been busy installing, assembling household stuff lol, well yesterday I assembled storage shelving that gave me an idea. I can use the same shelving although slightly wider to build the benchwork including under layout storage. The actual shelves drop into a L girder section so I won't install the shelf inserts and install timber cross sections instead My question is what is the ideal height for a layout? I am thinking around 48 inches (120 cm)
The best height it what fits you most comfortably. Put up something temporary, and see how it is for view, for ability to reach areas to construct and maintain. Adjust this temporary structure up or down and see where you end up, then just for fun, measure it.
Here is my work area for structure building etc, you will notice the small trolley which also houses my mini compressor. I will be using the same materials for the new bench work
On my layout, I'm using N scale cork roadbed for the main and yard, but the spurs are all laid straight on the foam surface. As for layout height, I put mine at about "armpit height" (which for me is 54"), and it works well for me. However, I've had layouts at 48" with no problems as well- my last HCD layout was at 48" above the floor.
Here is the first section of shelving for the layout, I will be cutting the front supports between the top of the bench to the top of the support however keeping the top 100 mm which attachs to the rear post by the cross brace, this will form the valance. I have also purchased LED strip lighting to be mounted under the valance
Today Gary (GATS), Patrick and myself got together and modified the shelving, it now is the skeleton for the benchwork and valance Really pleased with the concept now time to build the timber work for the layout
I will be using 3 x 1 pine to build the deck then 9 mm mdf for the top, hopefully start that in a few weeks still have a few house projects to complete
