Hello from Boston,Ma. I am joining this forum to talk about the Ashton Valve company, who from 1871 to the 1970's produced safety valves, gauges, whistles, and other items for Railroads, marine ships, and stationery boilers. The company was founded by Henry Ashton, my ancestor and I have been researching the company for the past 3 years. While learning quite a bit about the company, I still have a long way to go. All the connections the company had to Railroads (parts manufacturers like Ashton were called the "supply men") has brought me into constant contact with the Railroads and their history so I have joined a few forums so I can learn more about Railroads. Also, if anyone has any Ashton Valve stories, please contact me. I would love to hear them.
Hi Rick, welcome. Glad you chose to come on board. I can't help you with anything in the 1:1 scale world being a modeler. But I'm sure there are some here who are familiar with, or at least have heard of Ashton Valve products and can give you help. Good luck.
Welcome to Trainboard. There are a number of members here with experience on the railroads. Hope they can help.
Welcome aboard, Rick. I am always interested in history related to railroading. Please share yours with us.
