I got this today and am so impressed I made a video for it. For the price it seems unbelievably perfect.

I was looking at mini vacuums just about a week ago online. Wish I could get them so cheap here in Canada, or I'd snap buy one for sure, but the cheapest on amazon.ca is 30$. The one concern I have on this type of vacuum is the battery - on an identical version, but different brand, it states that you can't run it while plugged in - I'd worry about it not being charged when I actually need it, or the battery not lasting very long after a weeks use.

Will update on the vacuums battery as it goes, so far it's excellent power, charged on arrival and tried the charger once just to see if it would die on charging or something. it charged ok, but seemed to get hot in the handle which is where the battery must be. If this things battery ever dies I will simply replace it. I am suspicious as well given its price, but liIon and LiPo batteries are totally common in small products now and there is a good chance it works ok for a resonable amount of time before considering it. I am buying another soon to have one always charged since it seems to just do anything I want with small particulate material.

I just used it to separate sand and woodland scenics ground cover. I vacuumed up both lazily then wanted all the earth and grass tone but not the larger sand particles. held the nozzle a set distance, about 15-20mm away from spread out material, and got 95% stuff I wanted and it left the sand on the worktable. its not very powerful by any normal vacuum standards, which is exactly what we want. I used the brush attachment to directly brush away ground cover after 8 hours drying of the scenic cement. I wanted to remove some of the volume. the vacuum removed it slightly, allowing me to make several passes to get the effect I wanted, a case of barely functioning for someone with a mess being utterly perfect for our selective needs.

the motor makes a lot of noise, the impeller spins mighty fast, but the internal design of the impeller housing is very spacious and a lot of suction is lost. a spacer above the impeller with a profile allowing airflow to the vents would improve its suction. not sure I want that though, it will take the largest N scale 'large rocks but not boulders' with near direct contact, it will take light ground cover at about 3cm. waving it around carefully at a few cm distance produces ideal results. emptying the bin of specific materials between uses on different materials is super quick and I have literally waisted zero ground cover since i got this thing. Flick of the finger on the back clears the filter into the cup of salvaged material.
