It's 05/02/1985 and this is the ICG's last train from Montgomery. This segment of GM&O line at Pearson, AL will soon be torn up. I'd driven a ways to get here and I remember being a little peeved at the overcast and that the locomotive's nose decal had peeled off.
From April 1987 at Paducah KY, BN SD-45 6420, former NP 3620. It was to be rebuilt by VMV Paducah and sold to KCS. Looks like a number of other BN SD-45s are there too.

Interesting loads on the flat cars on the farthest track! That's the fun in yard photos, especially when they're snapped from a height above the action. One can see all sorts of cars and engines from different railroads, defunct, or active, and occasionally one can glimpse a car or engine that has an interesting history.
