From October 1995, Yorkrail GP-9 1752 at York, PA. Former B&O, since scrapped. Yorkrail is owned by Genesee & Wyoming today.
Nice old GP-9 w/dynamics. Can only imagine it pulling freight back in the 50's! That old 567 block in the background doesn't looked like it fared to well either....
I see a train a coming, somewhere down the line. And I ain't seen one up close, for a long long time. I'm stuck here at the crossing and time keeps draggin' on. But that slow train keeps on coming, Up from San Antone. After about 15 minutes of waiting in Hearne, Texas heading north on the old IGN (Mop) line out of San Antonio.
A loaded ethanol train, possibly NS 6T4, heads East through Sinking Spring, PA, on 5 January 2025. The lead AC44C6M, released from Juniata in September 2023, doesn't look too shabby. The trailing SD70Ace's condition, however, is more similar to the buffer car.
Was a cold, damp, windy day at the Rosenberg Railroad Museum for a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the completion of the new display track. The crowd huddled while all the city and county dignitaries and the museum leaders gave speeches. Come on, let's get this thing done! The ribbon is down there somewhere. You can see the loops on the end of the big red scissors the the museum director is holding. The MoPac cabbose was temporarily moved for the track construction. It will be placed on the new track along with a number of other artifacts. The Gulf Coast Chapter of the NRHS is getting out of the museum business and has donated four pieces from our collection to join the caboose. One is the Houston Belt & Terminal S2 switcher. This helium car. Amtrak lounge 3395 (ex-ATSF Super Chief barber shop lounge 1344). ATSF RPO/baggage/express 3401.
Cool pumpkins with silver slippers. Those are really big eyebrows! But those locos are really clean. Nice photo.
