The ruins of an extensively damaged Roundhouse in Atlanta, Georgia after the Atlanta Campaign in the summer of 1864. Getting things back to sort of working.

That exact photo is in a book I have on trains (Trains, by Robert Selph Henry) that was published 90 years ago, in 1934! :)

    Quite the haul!

A pretty Alco face, a snooty Dash-2, a turbocharged kitten, a rare E5B and rarer SD45B, fresh paint and less than fresh paint on a couple of golden oldies.

    Sweet!

Oh my gosh, there's a guy leaning out the CB&Q B-Unit's window, hostling it about. Not much visibility there and no air horn or bell I'll bet.

It did have a horn. You can see the shadow real well against the diaphragm.

If it has hostler's controls and was moved independently, I would believe it was also required to have the appropriate safety devices, bell and horn.

Yes, the bell was typically located on the frame behind the front truck on the left side.

Ah, I should have known that even B-Units would have to be equipped with horn and bell. Thanks!
