It has been in Roanoke since before I started going there. They gave it the new paint job a few years ago.
Back in Cedar Park again working on the former SP diner. I have been replacing the carbon steel bolts holding down the seats with stainless steel ones. The old ones have rusted away. Having to do lot of drilling and tapping.
And then there were the GP-40P-2s that looked like they grafted on the hood off a SDP-45s, flares and all. I caught the class engine in Hearne but with poor lighting.
As seen in March 1995 at Speers Ferry, VA, lines from the former Clinchfield and SOU meet at Copper Creek. Unfortunately, trees have since grown so tall as to completely obscure the NS line and are rapidly encroaching on the view of the Clinchfield's trestle too.
Actually it's a mid or late production SD70M. According to Wikipedia EMD needed bigger fans to reach Tier-1 compliance on these engines. An SD70M-2 looks just like an SD70ACe. It's a variation of that model having DC traction motors.
