The Saluda depot survives too, but it was moved into town and placed sideways on a lot about 75 FT away from the tracks. I'm glad that it was saved, but its location is a bit odd. It's now a die cast collectibles store [ http://dadscats.com/ ]. Located north of Saluda, the Hendersonville depot houses the Apple Valley Model Railroad Club [ https://www.avmrc.com/ ]
How very cool to have train orders from this historic line. The last regularly scheduled passenger train on the line was the Carolina Special in 1968.
"CP 10.6 Knockdown" A crescent moon glows softly over the North Dakota prairie at 2300 as a westbound manifest knocks down a clear signal at CP 10.6.
This BNSF covered hopper is likely not a rare sight, but it was for me in South Carolina. I'm guessing that this is early post-merger paint, adopting the Santa Fe logo and spelling out the name of the railroad. I like it.

As seen yesterday at Killian, SC, NS 192 advances north. That's an SD-60E leading, NS's class for their rebuilt SD-60s featuring an NS-designed widenose cab, modern electronics, an electric brake and a horsepower upgrade. GE C44-9W 9073 trails.
The Hawkeye Express Deadhead Move nearing Tiffin, IA. The Express is owned by the Iowa Northern Railway and runs during home games in Iowa City on the Iowa Interstate by taking fans to and from Kinnick Stadium.
