Back to red? Go long! A westbound CP manifest climbs out of Burlington, ND out of the Des Lacs River valley east of Foxholm, ND.
Great photo. I like telephoto lenses, they allow me to not feel bad about my track laying skills. LOL
For the start of Spring. Sunflowers and SD70M's. 9807 east, in the hole at Oban, near Lancaster CA, 1995
CSX T4 as a DPU on an eastbound rack train CSX 3003 west on an westbound ethanol train. Even caught an Executive Grinstein Unit as one of two DPU units on a detour coal train eastbound. The FRA issued a waiver to the UP to let other run-through trains use their power instead of adding a UP unit to the front of the train(for ATC). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
From the decade or older file, Montana Rail Link midtrain helpers shove hard on a westbound on Mullan Pass at Birdseye, MT:
That caught my eye too. When straightened up, things are looking better for the 6388. (I hope you don't mind my messing around with your photo Akirasho. I had to satisfy my curiosity! )
That trackage was once pristine, serving several industries as well as supplying coal and other goods to the Dayton VA. Alas, all the old industries are gone (GM/Inland... VA no longer runs it's own power grid) save a warehouse and storage facility (former McCalls printing) which doesn't garner enuff attention for attention. Occasionally, I suspect the tracks are used like a sub yard. I've seen short strings of coil cars on these tracks (probably coil transfers to trucks). The "tilt" kinda represents fiscal responsibility for CSX. Spend that MOW where needed!
