The Have and the Have Nots

Looking North along CSX main at Stewart St (Dayton, OH) you can see the runaround and spur tracks.

Distorted by the telephoto, it's still clear which side gets the heavy maintenance and which is "good enuff".

Why do we see you down here all the time?

It was a fair question asked by this person as she'd seen me alongside the tracks on many occasions.

    Train - Unk - Curious Passenger.JPG

Course, on the flipside, I once had a DFD ENGINE respond as a concerned citizen thought I might be contemplating hurting myself as I waited trackside and called 911!!!

    At least they were concerned!!!!

I find that passersby usually show up at train time after a two hour wait. In fact, I grow increasingly nervous if I'm waiting to take a photo because it often happens that way. "HEY! Is something commin'?"

Here's one of a southbound coal train on the NS approaching Atlanta back in 2008. BNSF power is the norm on this train for at least the past 20 years now.

BNSF is fairly common (GE's) on both CSX and NS.

Excellent photos. Sad that PB feels it necessary to place a huge advertising watermark across them all. :(

    I've been debating that.

Of course, the site gives me paid options to remove the watermark, but I've used them for well over a decade and have a bazillion images there and I'm CHEAP. While I appreciate their desire to be economically viable, I'll have to reassess any type of online storage (now using One Drive for file management). Good while it lasted?

Those "strike out" remarkings are interesting. Kind of like a cheap form of heritage unit...

Its best just to load photos straight from your computer. And easy.

I do exactly as suggested. Or, have my own web site, (had it for over a decade now, well worth while and easily done!), and simply link there.
