Possibly some electrical boxes to feed the dispatch center computer equipment or a place for back-up power should it be needed.

Finished the RGW headquarters, at least as far as I can. Put it back on its foundation until I can get the windows.

I asked Doug quite some time ago to hold off on any more scenery here as well. Now we can get back to that.

Finally finished the asphalt surface at the Kenworth site. I also added lighting to the two bays.

Only thing left on the building is to add stacks and pipes on the upper roof section and to trim out the foundation. Then I can get to the task of scenicing the entire property. I'm going to hold off on the ballast until the entire Renton area is complete.

Tomorrow I'm going to finish the interior of Dunn Lumber as my order of 3d parts arrived today.

That's it for tonight, thanks for checking in.

Well, now that I see where it goes, I can see why the loading area idea wouldn't work. :) The building looks great. Nice job on it.

Nice looking structure. If it is going to be close to the front of the layout, interior detail would draw viewers' interest in to look through the windows. Otherwise, it might not be visible through the small windows. As far as the two missing windows are concerned, you could take the easy route and just brick them.

Mid evening update, put down two layers of rock around the Kenworth building. This hides seams, which is necessary because the layout is sloped in this area, so finding 2 feet of level ground is not in the cards.

Next step will be to add real dirt and then some greenery at the extreme edges of the building.

I also started working on the interior shelving units and checkout stands for Dunn Lumber.

I first primed all the parts, then used a flat file to smooth out the rougher edges left by the 3d printer. After a second coat of primer I used black Tamiya panel line accent on all the shelving. My hope is to create even more depth for the packages on the shelves. It's now drying after a spray of dullcote. Once that dries, I'll be painting the shelving white and the packages random shades.

I'm still looking for 3d printed wheelbarrows and shovels. They'll be the final touches.

    More soon.

Just finishing up the shelving for Dunn Lumber. Now I'm beginning to arrange everything, keeping in mind I have more to add later.

Also taking a few moments to work on the main entry light. I clearly need more figures. Perhaps they're all sheltered in place, hmmmm.

One last update before calling it a night, got all of the real dirt down at the Kenworth site. Next will come the greenery; shrubs and grasses. I also have to paint Lake Washington on the backdrop, but that's for some other day down the road.

As you can also see above, I extended the mainline real dirt to the same point as the Kenworth building. It's the part along the fascia that still shows glue drying.

    That's it for today.

Very nice job on the shelving. I would guess that it wasn't the easiest thing to paint, but looks excellent.

After two more layers of scenery, here we are:

I added coarse turf in 3 colors and clump foliage in 3 colors. Topped it off with a new fir tree to right of the building and some vine foliage. There will be some trees in the front near the fascia to the left, but not many and they'll be clumped together so an operator can easily access the track. I'll also add a half height chain fence around the perimeter of the asphalt at some point.

Think it's time to go to the next project.

Next project underway. The UPS Store.

Please disregard the misdrilled hole, there was serious operator error involved. Everyone is ok now though.

That's what you get for using non skilled labour/labor.

Might need to get some weed folk union laborers lol. That way you just need a pot of coffee and a roach coach and your good to go.

Test fit of all the parts except for the roof trim, which I already tested. Looks like this little structure is coming along nicely.

Two coats of dullcote before we add the mortar. As we did with the Old Milwaukee Substation, we'll use a highly diluted gray wash.

Debating the interior upgrade, the building wouldn't need much; a counter, a parcel platform/scale and an intermediate wall. Who knows, it's not like I'm going anywhere.

    Thanks for checking in.

Well, another one in the books. The UPS Store, sans interior upgrade, is done.

In the top picture you can see one of the row houses. During down times for allowing paint or sealer to dry, I've been finishing the roof shingles. One down, two to go.

    On to the next project.
