Yeah, golf greens are rarely level. Kinda like garage floors, but prettier and less predictable. (Nope; not gonna go there...) Oh, believe me, that's nothing; wait till you've sawed a little off the legs to make it "level" before you figured out what had happened!
Busy night! Need some filler and a ton of sanding, probably a jeweler's file to boot, some pieces on the ends, and I don't even want to think about cutting and fitting all the plexiglass on that second floor, but once I get all the people and shops and whatnot in here, I think we'll have us a train station! Also, I don't think I ever want to do anything with vertical posts again. Holy frijoles, Batman.
If you ever need an exercise in how to super-glue tiny pieces of square balsa dowel to your fingers, thumb, tweezers, or anything else other than other tiny pieces of square balsa dowel, I highly recommend scale bookcases. (there were originally 6 but I sanded one a little too hard and it misshaped). Have to wait for another payday to get the rest of the paint and some furniture pieces from Shapeways and such to finish up my building, but am trying to work on the details in the meantime. It's coming along nicely though, imo.
Those look pretty good pfunk. If you will allow may I suggest a miter sander especially if you've plans for a bit more finishing work? I have a fourmost sander that I've used for over 20 years and has served me well. The wood sanding block can also be used like a plane sander due it's relatively long flat surface and easy to grip. I buy the 3m sandpaper square pads with adhesive at the local hardware shop then cut them down to get the size needed when it's time to replace the grit. Each pad is good for 3 refills. One side has a fine grit 220-320 while the other side I use 100-150. Occasionally I have to clean off the sawdust and adhesive left on the block using alcohol when replacing pads especially if during use the sand paper edges lift allowing sawdust to get in there. The one issue is that the guide arm while it has decent tension it will tend to move if you get too aggressive. To cure that I use a mini clamp to help keep it stationary.
I may save these for a different project. The actual Nobeoka Station has built-in bookcases that go floor to ceiling on the second floor but I had to build my model a little taller than scale since I added the track running THROUGH the building instead of just behind it. I attempted to make these 10ft-to-scale in height, but it still leaves a ton of dead space above. I never set out to do a full-on carbon copy, but after seeing these sitting where they go, am not the biggest fan of the look. I'll see, something else to think about while waiting for the rest of what I need to finish to show up in the mailbox. Maybe add a rolling ladder like in an actual library? Seems unlikely for a public train station, but would be more believable to look at. Maybe put them on Ebay for a ridiculous price like everybody else does?

Have had to steer clear of the interwebs for a few days, tweaked my back at work and have been on muscle relaxers since Saturday aftermoon. Baclofen I have no issues with, but apparently benzodiazepine is not something I should be taking. Ever. I told a coworker today that making a PBJ and astrophysics are both the same thing on this stuff - have to think long and hard about how to do both. I noticed Saturday afternoon that my common sense was turning into a Philip K. Dick novel, so I just shut the 'puter down altogether for a few days So, now that it's game on again - quick question: I am going to need to have some stickers and decals very near some LED strip lights, is there any risk of them fading out? I have a little bottle of vallejo matte "varnish" for a clearcoat, but I don't think it has anything that would impede fading. I know LEDs don't give off UV, but just curious if I was setting myself up here, no guarantee I can get the same graphics again down the road.
Depends on the LED . There are UV producing LEDS . What brand strip lights , and do they have any specs available ?

A day after they shipped it popped into my brain that being that bright it might fade out things in proximity more than normal.
Being 65K They MAY have UV in them . But if you protect the stickers they they might be OK . Or at least last longer .
I kind of hate taking meds of any kind, but the ones that muddy cognizance to the point you barely know what's going on are the worst imo. I'd almost rather deal with the pain than be that fuzzy. And thanks, but for the last 7-10yrs or so, this has kind of been the norm. My lower back is a disaster and it doesn't take much to make it retaliate, am kind of used to it. Usually when this happens my L4/L5 pops out and pinches the sciatic so I end up dragging my left leg around and not being able to poop for like 4 days HAHAHA this time I got away with just the spasms. HOORAY, getting old!
after about an hour of surfing around on Ebay, I think I found an alternate solution to the vinyl decals altogether. This building will have way more interior details than most so wanted the brightest lights I could - did not think about the other side of that coin at all. Will definitely keep it in mind going forward!
PF, I sympathize completely. Broke 7 vertabrae in my spine in 2004, I have some of the "Just sit there and drool on myself meds" here, but like you, I would rather deal with a little pain and be functional.
Fully understand about the meds. Most injuries are from Viet Nam. 3 years ago I told the VA clinic and local hospital I wouldn't take them anymore. It cost me $75K, 70 days in jail and had to sell all properties and lost my drives license for life. Fun.
