It is a great rest stop to let my son burn off energy. Every time I am there I tell my wife that I need to come back and railfan from it.

Ooooo this is a tough one. From the mountains I would say north of Ogden but the coal train makes me think southor west of salt lake. The standing equipment again adds an interesting piece to the puzzle. Hmmmmmm

By "standing equipment" do you mean the dumpster? OK you got part of it, I'm in Utah, but I'm South of SLC.

The area looks really familiar but I just can't zero in on the exact location.

Ok I zoomed in on the pic and behind the train is what looks like a covered Hopper and a private car. That is the standing equipment that I was talking about. Now being south of salt lake tells me it might be around American fork.

Looks to me to be around the Spanish Fork area and I'm guessing that you're just off of I-15 with the equipment in the far background and the way the mountains are opening up for the canyon to the east.

What looks like a covered Hopper and a private car behind the train is really a building a ways in the background. I was at Nestle in Springville Utah, closer to Spsnish Fork then American Fork. Thats the Old D&RGW like that comes down from Helper. not a spot most railfans would be hanging out in anyway.

I was sitting track side today in Evanston Wyoming but as my luck would have it, I dropped my little camera and broke it. bummer. lets see what I do have.....

Eek and double eek! Hope you can replace it soon! Knowing Murphy's Law, it is guaranteed you will spot something really unique and no camera...

I guess there are no more guesses on that last one, it was Ekco Canyon.

Heres one I shot this morning, I'll help you with a clue, its not in Utah, but this line does run through Utah on its way to get here & is 110 miles long.

    Good luck!

Hmmm. Well, Jolly's clue should eliminate the Granger-Ogden line as that is longer than 110 miles. My guess is Ogden-McCammon, Idaho which is about 110 miles!

Well, my guess, above- #36, was the line Ogden-McCammon, Idaho, as that is very close to 110 miles distance as in the clue provided....? Close? No cigar?

BoxcabE50, that is the Ogden Subdivision, but there are named points along the line or even mile post, which one is the photo closest too. If you have never railfanned this line then you mite not get anycloser than the Ogden Subdivision.
