Hank, You are welcome. I thought so too, they are great videos. Taken from the perspective of a railroad employee. Including the kind of chatter you'd hear going on between the dispatcher, station agents and other Rails. Informative to say the least.
I haven't been able to get part 3 to play. I've been hitting this a few times lately with YT. I wonder what sort of problems they are having? Really interesting seeing Dave Sprau mentioned in the credits. A VERY interesting person. Anyone who gets to sit down and talk with him is in for some fascinating stories and information! I've known him for about 35 years now. Heck of a nice guy.
I heard from Toy Television Man, that You Tube and Mozilla Firefox are making some changes in their servers. Not talking to each other so well....yet! I just got part 3 to play. Hoping you will have the same experience. Oh, the edit feature appears to be working just fine...Thanks!
Google is pulling out support for non google single sign on...which basically means if you were logging in with Facebook or similar, that support is gone.
So how does this effect us when clicking through via an embedded video here on TrainBoard? Will that cease functioning? BTW- I have hit this when on the actual YT site itself.
Ah. Part 3 is working. Fun to see so many old familiar places. South Portal Tower. Seattle, back when it was actually a nice place to live. Dumbbells on their motorcycles, which those and other hikers, etc, can still be a headache to this day. (No surprise when we hear someone is hit by a train in that vicinity.) Edmonds depot is still as busy, if not more, with riders today! The ride along Puget Sound is great. (I love it. Hoping to make it again some day, when the BNSF oil traffic mess subsides.) Across the Snohomish River plains and farm fields, still much the same. At Monroe the Evergreen Fair Grounds. (Where the big United Northwest Model RR Club show and swap meet is held every winter.) That area, what was once the west edge of town, is ALL built up businesses now. At the end is Index Loop. Neat stuff!
Phew, good to hear you got it working. I hope the following video isn't a duplicate of what's here already. From the Wilkie Estate.
Quite a coincidence I should find this video. Yosemite is one of my favorite places to hike, camp and just sit back and enjoy. I missed the train... What a view an eagle would have.
Thank you, Rick, for posting these videos. Nice. I even got a glimpse of an "Old Reliable" 40' box car in the Wilkie Estate SP&S video.
Seeing those older box, and other cars, makes the stuff of today mostly look cheap. A lot of company pride back then. Sure can't say the same for too much of what is displayed now.
I'd sure like to know more about this operation. All that it says is "Nanaimo Lakes". Nanaimo is on Vancouver Island, BC. I can't read anything on the locos.
Ken, A couple of interesting locomotives. Like you'd I'd like to know more about them. Here is documentation of the last run of the Apache Railroad. Not sure what's behind the whole story but a great capture of ALCO locomotives. To follow up on my Nanaimo video linked, I believe these were MacMillan-Bloedel operations. (I've heard a few refer to them simply as "Mac-Blo". Kind of an ugly sounding nickname!) I believe they also had some operations in Washington State, on the Olympic Peninsula, vicinity of Sekiu and south of there.

Amtrak over Tehachapi? Yes they did, sit back and enjoy this video.
