Watched it, liked it, subscribed to and will check in to see more.
However, that's no excuse for you not to post here.

I'm not a real fan of the European railroads but still find them interesting. Especially those that run through the mountains. Awesome construction and the view isn't half bad.

Short and sweet. Right in old downtown Seattle. Pans past Union Station, (MILW, UP), to a GN train leaving King Street Station. I did not study the consist, to see what train it might have been. Entering South Portal, then exiting and passing through the North Portal Vicinity. What I saw many times as a youth. Back when railroads were long term investment style businesses. Not the sorry cows being milked to death of today.

Yes. I actually have this one on VHS. Got it either from Video Rails or Pentrex, long ago. These old promo films were absolutely great. Well, worth watching, and make advertising of today seem utterly pathetic.

    Great thread idea!

I just started shooting some video, and I have a LOT to learn! LOL. These were all shot the day this thread started, I think, last month. BNSF transcon just east of Flagstaff, AZ.

    Here's a pusher set: BNSF Pushers 5012 and 5044.

Steve, Those pusher sets have been called helper units, one of those tradition of the rails now being changed by us rail fans. You'll even find the narrator of some of our railfanning video's calling them "Pusher sets".

Have you ever wondered what became of the railroads in the north west? Here's a hint.

One thing I've learned by trying, you can't fight city hall. You can call them "Facilitator/Enabler Locomotives" anything you'd like.

UGH. Just what we need. Correctness in railroading. When that happens, I'll take up yo-yo collecting instead.

    Ken,

    That is one awesome ride.

I used to do pretty good with those Yo-Yo's but the group of renown had correct terminology to be used. It would depend on whether you were from Japan, the western or eastern United States and never mind the United Kingdom. Grin!

Well, I was pretty good, too! That is, at creating tangles and knots!

I used to do around the world, over the donkeys butt...uhhh....errr...that may not be correct. Ditto on the tangles and knotts!

I really like the way this video was put together. It turned out well and had me wishing I had grown up along the GN ROW.

Wow. That is a neat video! Gotta see those other three parts now! My being a big fan of depots and train orders...

I could do around the world- As long as I was outdoors where there was nothing to break, and nobody to injure but myself... I recall having one of the Duncan Satellites when those first came out. Wooden, sort of a turquoise with metal flakes in the paint. Somewhere around here, I even still have a Snoopy yo-yo.

In the conversations between train crews, dispatchers and M.O.W. did you notice a term we model railroaders use....that's missing?
