Buddy Burton's photo shows the steam engine that is newer than the car.

 

If I interpret this Wikipedia entry properly, 162 miles of the original 251 miles.

 

Sounds about right. The west end, Greenwood MS to Greenville MS is cut off from the rest of the C&G but still fairly active. They interchange with the CN at Greenwood. Their main shops are on the eastern side of the state at Columbus MS where they have a lovely Baldwin displayed in the parking lot.

 

I'm late to the show today. Montanan's aerial shot is cool and Will, you chose a fine variety of subjects this week.
