I'm looking for as much info as possible on the Quincy RR and its interchange with the WP. I know that the it's mentioned in some short line books, but I don't want to buy the book unless I know the entry for the Quincy is pretty good. I'd also love to see what the track looked like where they met.

    Thanks!
    Brian

Have you checked the Foothill Rails web site?

Thanks for the plug of my Foothill Rails site. I don't have anything but a roster at Quincy RR roster. I did pick up a book recently called Shortline Junction I believe. It has a real nice chapter on the Quincy. I'll double check the title. :)

    John,
Have you seen the April 1963 edition of Model Railroader? This has an article entitled "Terminal for a Short Line: Quincy, Calif. This article has 18 photos of nearly all of the railroad structures at Quincy. Also has a very neat perspective sketch of the Quincy yard. This is one of the late Gil Reid's masterpieces.
Did you know that Campbells produced HO scale kits for all of the Quincy structures?
If you PM me I can email a scanned copy of the article.
    Regards,
    Gary

Ignore the previous post, I should have replied to Vashnar.
Vashnar, let me know if this is any use to you.

    No Prob Gary. :)

I double checked the title of the book I have, and yes, it is Shortline Junction. A whole chapter is dedicated to the Quincy. I was able to pick up my copy for $11 at a used book store.

The WP connection w/ the Quincy was at Quincy Junction (go figure). Here's a link to WP Track Charts. Click on the "WP Mainline West End" then go to page 63:

    http://inarevil.tripod.com/WPTrackCharts.htm

You can enlarge the page size to see more detail. If you can find a USGS map of the area, you can see alot more detail. The current Quincy stops short of the town at a lumber mill. We stopped there a few years ago & talked w/ the engineer who was very friendly. If you go to Quincy stop at the Plumas County Museum as they have alot of info.

Additional to the great information above, my very good friend Andrew was building a small layout with the Quincy Junction as the focal point. He has a wealth of information on the Quincy as well, probably a lot of what is offered above. I'm certain he would be willing to help a kindred spirit.

    Gats,

Is the Andrew in your reply 'Cajon?' I'm working in incorporating the Quincy into a larger WP layout I'm planning and would love any and all information I can find.

    Thanks,
    Brian

I'm aka Andy not Andrew. Was helping a friend design his WP #rd Sub. layout. Here's one place to start: http://www.wprrhs.org/wphistory.html
