On an older Bachmann Hong Kong car, I am replacing the rapido coupler. The rapido has spring movement. When I try to install a replacement Kato coupler11-702, it fits snugly and therefore there is no spring movement. Will the coupler work with out the spring movement? This is truck mounted coupler.
I have replaced some couplers on older cars with same Kato 11-702 and when they fit snug in the coupler pocket there is no need for the spring.
