    Mitch,

What can I say they are just fantastic and NO these units are definately not for sale. I'm am so looking forward to having them back and running them on the layout.

What precautions must i take to remove the shell with the optical fibre attached? Also how did you attach the fibres to the LED without obscuring the top lights or don't they light anymore?

Very nice job... I'm trying to think if I've ever seen any other RR apply the main body color to both the tank AND the trucks. I can't really think of any others. Looks good though.

thanks for the comments everyone. since i like the mopac so much these were a cakewalk for me. no whining when it comes to painting good ole jenks' blue. colonel the top headlight still works and will be a little brighter than the new one on the nose just do to the fact that it is a direct line from the white led where the class and nose lights are bent over the frame a little. the only thin to really look out for is the fiber optic is run under the black headlight cover connected to frame. they are in there free to move and not connected to led itself. if you should need to take the shell off, you will have no problem, then when you put it back on is the fun part, you will need to remove the cab from the shell and then glide the wire under the cover as you slide the shell on. there is a notch in the bottom of the cover to allow the wire to go underneath the cover. then just put the cab on, if the wire doesn't lay down flat the nose will try to pop up but that can be fixed by making sure they are laying flat and the nose is locked on the sill with the atlas catches fitting in the kato sill holes. i am working out of town for a few days on some roofing so i will get them out as soon as i am back in town, if it rains tomorrow like the forecast says they will be out tomorrow, i hope it rains, i am ready for a break!!!! Steady on TG... they may be modern diesels and my flavour, but you are talking about moving from Soo steam... methinks not! ;)

Great work, Mitch. They are truly a beautiful pair. [IMG]

I had a roaming eye for Mopac since the Kato GP38-2 came out in the late 80's. Your models look so nice, they tempt me just like MRL does. (takes a slapp upside the head by my NP love) What... I was just looking? :D

Looks as though Mitch has absconded with my locomotives.

The FBI are currently trying to track him down :D

Thanks Mitch I'm looking forward to their return, lookout for pictures real soon :D . Mitch I gathered you sent via air mail????

This project has been excellent and I've really enjoyed watchingit progress on trainboard.

Maybe you can show us some of your cureent projects as well. I see you have a lot of work in the pipeline so I wont send you any more at this stage but maybe sometime in the future I may want a couple more mopacs. What was the most modern locomotive mopac had in the jenks blue??? Did they ever have any SD60's or 70's???. did they have GP38's or were they GP38-2's lol

colonel the most modern in blue would be a gp50 or the b30-7 orders were placed around the same time frame. the next was the sd50 and c30-7 but those came delivered in the up colors but labelled mopac. they had 6 gp38's and numerous 38-2's and yes i know the difference between the two, unlike some self proclaimed "experts". they did go out via air mail so hopefully you will get them in 5 to 7 days. as far as current projects, when i am done with the trailers and hoppers for ednsfan i will be doing some ns dash 9's that i will be chopping the wide cab off of and placing the standard spartan ge cab to them making the first style of ns dash 9's. doing this using a kato dash 9 and an atlas dash8 shell. will be intersting to do and will be neat when done, i will do a thread on those also.

    Thanks Mitch,

A couple of GP38's would look great hmmm I might have to buy a couple of undecorated ones and put them aside until you have time. No hurry they will be on layby for 3 months and I would be happy not to send them until next year :D

Oh were they dynamic or not?
