    Any chance these will come in truck/coupler versions reassembled like the current MTs come? No matter how "easy" it's suppose to be some of us don't have the time it would take to convert hundreds of cars with these body mounted versions. If we could pop out the current truck/coupler assembly and pop in the new True Scale assembly that would save a lot of time that some of us 'working stiffs' don't have.

    I watched Joe's video.

    Are the couplers shown the short shank or medium shank? (hoping medium, because that "close coupling" ain't that close)

    Doesn't it just make more sense to snip the coupler off of the original truck rather than obtaining one without a coupler? Am I missing something?

    I pitched that idea to Joe...I pointed out that there are Atlas hoppers that don't have have a surface to body mount a coupler

    I'll try these couplers as a replacement for my Unimates between locomotives such as ABBA sets. However, I am sticking with my MT truck mounted couplers. That way I can couple on curves and anywhere on a layout. Can't do that with body mounted couplers especially long cars such as passenger cars.

    While is adds cost and assembly time, Trainworx makes an assembled magnetic body mount coupler for various hopper and tank cars. It looks like a 1015 box so this new coupler should work using this. Might be worth an email to Trainworx to be sure. Or if in the future Trainworx would just offer the part w/o the coupler. I know where a lot of my modeling budget will be going..... going.... gone.

    Too many cars to really consider doing this though it looks pretty good. With it not being compatible, it makes it into an all or nothing sort of proposition. Been there and done that getting rid of all the Rapido couplers. Can't see doing all that again.

    I hear ya. I've 4 different railroads of 30+ unit trains of Atlas 90 ton hoppers alone. Then other brands of hoppers mixed in with those trains as well. Then there's covered hoppers and tank cars. Maybe on the layout queens I be converting them. And by layout queens, I refer to the newer nicely detailed freight cars that have been introduced over the past 5-7 years. Those never make the trip to the model railroad club. Too much handling back and forth out of the car cases.

    No drag is the wind the aircraft is flying into, the wind above a wing is low pressure, and wind below is lift

    The fact that it takes more 'force' to get them to couple would drive me crazy in Lucky Penny Yard. I switch from 1 car to 4 cars at a time. Chasing a single boxcar down the ladder trying to latch onto it...I might be tempted to throw something....other then just a fit !!! o_O:censored::censored:
